Arrest, torture or persecution: how the Russian occupation is changing the lives of LGBTQ+ people
In this talk, we discuss how Russia’s anti‑LGBTQ+ policy has become a component of the occupation regime. Drawing on human‑rights research, documented witness statements, and my own experience working with the LGBTQ+ community in the Kherson region, I report on forms of persecution, survival strategies, and the documentation of war crimes.
We kindly ask for your understanding: this talk can unfortunately only be held in Ukrainian.
A live English translation will be provided on stage.
