‘A Game of Numbers’ Literature Reading
The author, combat veteran and former prisoner of war will read fragments of his autobiographic prose novel 'A Game of Numbers'
The novel ‘A Game of Numbers’ is a memoir by Yevhen Shybalov, who volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 with no prior military background. As an infantry grenadier, the author took part in intense battles in and around the Ukrainian capital, was deployed to eastern Ukraine, and spent seven months in Russian captivity as a prisoner of war. In his debut novel, Yevhen describes real events from his life, offering valuable insights into the true price Ukrainian fighters paid to stop the first major strike of the invading forces in 2022. Selected fragments of this memoir will be read during the event (in English translation)
