Servers use (lots) of power, now how is this power usage distributed across the components inside a server and what configuration changes can be done to improve the power efficiency of a server. Based from monitoring data from ~500 different servers over ~8 years we have a good overview of what matters and what for impact changes that have been made over the years have improved this.
Besides this we also performed changes to the inlet temperature to see what the impact is of this in the general population to see if running the data center hotter has an impact on power usage.
