In this talk, we will present an overview of current trends in the area of bots and botnets. The main focus will be on Waledac, one of the prevalent botnets of 2009 that was recently taken down. We will also discuss other modern botnets and the challenges we might face in the future. On the other hand, we will also explain some techniques to study bot binaries in order to improve automated analysis.
