Building (less in-) accessible web sites

DysphoricUnicorn

A quick dive into best practices including but not limited to semantic HTML and aria attributes and how they can make your website usable by a wider audience with relatively low effort.

Most people who build websites tend to do that because they want other people to use those websites.
Sadly it is rather common that little to no effort is put into making that possible for disabled users.
In this talk I want to show that it actually isn’t too difficult to build more accessible web sites by "getting the low hanging fruit" first.
Generally most of the stuff shown here can be implemented in an existing website without throwing away the existing design or doing a whole rewrite.
