The ongoing digitization of the society and services call for a high availability of secure mobile networks, like 5G. Remote attestation can be a measure to maximize trust, security and privacy when using a mobile telecommunications network.
In this talk, I give a rough overview on how a mobile network works, followed by some insight into ongoing threats the public mobile network is facing in the past years. As a solution to some of the threats, remote attestation is a heavily discussed topic in research, and even from the mobile equipment vendors. I give an introduction into the topic of remote attestation and how and where it can be used in mobile networks and how it might impact the performance.
