      <title>How to build a Corsi-Rosenthal box fan filter... in Europe?? (quellc0d3)</title>
      <link>https://media.ccc.de/v/quellcode-2026-46-how-to-build-a-corsi-rosenthal-box-fan-filter-in-europe</link>
      <description>This talk is about how I built a Corsi-Rosenthal box fan filter without the resources used typically in the USA.

You probably have heard of them, maybe even saw them yourself: A box, with a bunch of air filters, and a fan on the top, all tied together with duct tape. It sucks air through the filters, and purified air comes out.

This DIY air purifier, as simple and cheap looking as it might be, turned out to be more effective than the more expensive ones from brands, and has made the lives of many better. The ongoing COVID pandemic, forest fires, SMOG... many situations where you want to have one in a room ( especially with several people inside! ).

You likely searched on Internet how to build one, and then come across detailed guides, telling you all what you need and the steps required.
But then there&#39;s a small detail that you soon catch: the components required are all from Costco or other American brands, which importation would render them anti-economical.

In this talk, I will share my experience of me building one up, coming up with alternatives that we can find at this side of the ocean.

      <title>pyinfra basics - you don&#39;t need ansible in your life (quellc0d3)</title>
      <link>https://media.ccc.de/v/quellcode-2026-49-pyinfra-basics-you-don-t-need-ansible-in-your-life</link>
      <description>Annoyed by ansible&#39;s yaml syntax? With pyinfra, you can write your declarative infrastructure config in python instead. With all the control flow logic, reusable libraries, and whole power of a turing-complete language you already know.

I can show you how we define our infrastructure in pyinfra, and some pyinfra libraries I wrote (for borgbackup, nginx, and wireguard). Then we can think together about the strengths and limitations of pyinfra, whether it would be useful for your projects, and how to migrate there.

      <title>„Reisebericht“: Zwischen RAG und Real Life – Lokale KI im Praxiseinsatz (quellc0d3)</title>
      <link>https://media.ccc.de/v/quellcode-2026-50-reisebericht-zwischen-rag-und-real-life-lokale-ki-im-praxiseinsatz</link>

**Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte:**

* Was sind die generellen **Vor- und Nachteile** lokaler KI im Vergleich zu ChatGPT &amp; Co.?
* Wie lassen sich Modelle mit einem überschaubaren **Budget** lokal nutzen?
* Welche Anwendungsfälle ermöglichen einen **tatsächlichen Nutzen** im privaten und kleinst-gewerblichen Bereich?
* Wie mir LLMs helfen, Herausforderungen durch **Neurodivergenz** zu bewältigen.
* Häufige **Missconceptions** im Automatisierungsgame.
* **Evaluation** von LLMs (ohne vorher einen Doktortitel in Mathematik zu absolvieren).
* **Does it need AI?** Wie behalte ich Kosten-, Umwelt- und Datenschutzrisiken im Auge?

**Worum es NICHT geht:**

* Vergleich von Web-Diensten bzw. Closed Source / Proprietäre KI.
* Grafikkarten-Tipps.
* Die Mathematik hinter LLMs.
* Erstellung von Multimedia-Assets (Audio, Bild, Video) mit KI.
* Spekulative Diskussionen über AGI/philosophische-Bedrohungs-Szenarien.
* Juristische Analysen zu Urheberrechten.

      <description>Science depends on knowledge being shared, discovered, scrutinized, and built upon. Yet much of today’s scientific literature remains locked behind paywalls and is mediated by a handful of commercial publishers and platforms that increasingly control how research is accessed, organized, and made visible. In this talk, we examine how the current scholarly publishing ecosystem emerged, why it has become increasingly dependent on proprietary infrastructures, and what this means for science and society. We also introduce _paperstacks.io_, an open European infrastructure developed at Technische Hochschule Nürnberg for discovering, organizing, and sharing scientific knowledge.
